The SHED campus extends far beyond the classroom, giving children the freedom to move, explore, and connect across indoor and outdoor spaces. With access to gardens, playgrounds, a basketball court, open fields, and the natural beauty of Phillips Academy and nearby AVIS Reservation, children experience after-school in a setting that supports independence, play, and connection to nature.
This approach is curiosity-led, not performance-driven, which protects children’s intrinsic motivation and supports deeper learning over time.

SHED is designed as a second neighborhood for children after school. The freedom to move throughout the campus, with guidance and trust, allows children to build independence, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging within their community.
Group size varies based on the needs of children and families, allowing educators to remain present, responsive, and engaged.

The overall culture of the staff and administration fosters an amazing (and rare) sense of independence, curiosity, creativity, community, and kindness. So grateful to have a program like this in Andover - I wouldn't leave my girls anywhere else!
Our kids use the bus to go from school to SHED. They are able to choose the activity they would like to do in the afternoon and they love it. The management goes above and beyond to help. We have had a wonderful experience at SHED
The clinic offers top-notch services and a welcoming atmosphere. The doctor took the time to explain everything in detail and offered practical solutions to improve my health naturally. My only suggestion would be to reduce wait times, but overall, it was an excellent experience.
The people who take care of the kids are amazing. The activities are endless, and the rest of the staff are very welcoming and helpful.
