Hybrid Kindergarten Program

Started Kindergarten Fall 2020

Our Kindergarten program will be a model that prioritizes social and emotional development, compassion, empathy, and collaboration as well as aligning with our 5 pillars: the Reggio Emilia philosophy, community, mindfulness, our gardens and nature.

Using the community space of the SHED Children’s Campus, the children will be given the time and space to actively explore, engage, and learn indoors as well as out. Guiding children’s learning development as individuals will also be paramount. Creativity, tinkering and imaginative play will be embraced as well as the development of important content curriculum by using the Massachusetts Department of Education standards as a roadmap.

Documentation of the individual child and group learning will be used as an ongoing form of assessment.

Our Reggio Emilia inspired educators provide stimulating enrichment opportunities to spark your child’s curiosity.

Child-Staff Ratios

Group size varies depending on the needs of the child and family. Our ratio for state licensing is 13-1, however, we strive to maintain a lower child-to-staff ratio.

Kid’s Club staff reflects a diversity of training and experience in early childhood education and school-age childcare. SHED Children’s Campus provides staff development and training opportunities throughout the year

SHED Building

The SHED building design features spaces that foster your child’s imagination and natural need to explore. Home-based rooms invite your child and family to develop relationships with our educators and children.

We allow your child to visit other classrooms to learn to reach out and expand his or her community and self.

Our backyard provides natural settings for playing sports, gardening, cross-country skiing in the snow, and exploring our open fields and wooded areas.
