Forest Days: Outdoor Nature Immersion Program

Reggio Emilia Inspired Nature Program

On Forest Days we provide the time and space for children to discover, question, observe, and document the natural world at their own pace and natural rhythm. Through open-ended child-led inquiry and exploration we will research and celebrate the changing seasons and how they alter our environment. We will climb rocks, jump in puddles, build forts and shelters, dig for worms, and play in snow to gain a more in-depth understanding of the natural world.

Teachers will support and encourage exploration of child-led imaginative play while not intruding unless there is a safety concern or risk. The majority of our class time will be spent outside exploring in each season. With proper attire, our students will learn to embrace the rain, snow, and sunshine alike, as well as any other weather pattern that New England has to offer. Seasonal snacks will be provided to warm us up or cool us off.
