It is pretty simple – children NEED to play. It does not matter what the temperature is or what the sky is unleashing. Humidity, freezing cold, snow or rain – all very play worthy.
Sometimes on rainy days, when we are tempted to stay in the comfort of our warm, dry building & when we feel disgruntled about the wet weather, we need pause – to put ourselves in the mindset of a child. What harm can a little rain do after all? We can look at it this way instead – what joy can a little rain bring to some very eager children?
So we let them out today on this very rainy day to run around, splash in a few puddles and turn their faces up towards the rain – to take it all in.
We may have a few wet heads & jackets but we also have some very happy energized children who quite simply loved the experience of playing in the rain.
